The Classical Studies Focus

The Classical Studies Focus
Concentrators study the civilizations of ancient Greece and Rome and their influence on later western culture. Courses are offered in classical history, philosophy, rhetoric, art history, literature (tragedy, comedy, epic, myth, and lyric, as well as the prose genres of the ancient novel and historiography), and a variety of cultural practices, including the areas of athletics, religion, and gender.

Requirements

See the GUIDE TO ACADEMIC PROGRAMS & CONCENTRATIONS for course requirements. In addition to the two short papers required of all moderating students, Classical Studies students submit a 10-page (minimum) paper from a Classics course, representing the student's best work to date for moderation.
